Italy welcomes back BEST
Key opinion leaders in the field of Transfusion Medicine and members of the Biomedical Excellence for Safer Transfusion (BEST) collaborative initiative gathered in Florence, Italy under the aegis of the Italian National Blood Center to discuss the latest advancements in the field of transfusion medicine. The meeting, organized by Dr. Giancarlo Maria Liumbruno (Director of the Italian Centro Nazionale Sangue) and Drs. Vaglio and D'Alessandro has involved renowned experts from the US, Canada and Europe to discuss quality issues with our current processing and storage strategies, novel storage additives and the impact of novel omics technologies on the field of Transfusion Medicine at large.
